I paint and sketch whenever and wherever I can. As my skills have developed so has my way of responding to what I want to paint.
Working en plein air whether on my doorstep or further afield enables me to absorb the scene in from of me whilst trying to capture the subtelties of colour, light and tone. This way of wroking can then stimulate a less representational but often a more expressive approach in the studio where the mood and atmosphere of the scene become more important than accurate representation. Usually this work involves mixed media. - whether it be watercolour, inks, pastels, acrylic and collage .
I exhibit and sell regularly in Dorset galleries and most recently have had paintings in the Society of Woman Artists exhibition at the Mall Galleries in London in 2014.
I have also exhibited with Purbeck Art Weeks since 2000 which involves having an open studio for a fortnight in May/June each year.
