I'm lucky enough to live in Dorset and have been inspired by the local landscape in particular. I enjoy watercolours, oils and pastels, and more recently acrylics and gouache. I've always had a keen interest in art and photography with special interest in Expressionism and Fauvism. Artists admired are numerous but include (in no particular order) Van Gogh, Soutine, Derain, Vlaminck, Dix, Nolde, Munch, Ensor, Kokoschka, and Bacon. Photographers admired include Ansel Adams. Together with some keen enthusiasts we have set up the East Dorset Brave Art Society (EDBAS).
In 2010, our BraveArt 3 exhibition attracted over 1,600 visitors at the Peacock Gallery, Upton Country Park, Poole. In 2011, we beat this visitor record with BraveArt 4 in May/June when we had in excess of 200 art works on display. BraveArt 5 will be held on 2 June to 10 June 2012 during Dorset Art Weeks at The Street Gallery, Poole Grammar School.
