I was born in Kilkenny City, Ireland in 1954 and i have been a full time professional artist since 1977 working in many different mediums from oil to watercolour and pen and ink.
The execution of fine detail is a very important aspect to my work where texture light and colour form a very fine balance with each other.
Having graduated from Limerick Cllege of Art and Design in 1975 i embarked on a long journey of discovery as an artist and found myself entering the world of pen and ink capturing the beautiful buildings of Kilkenny- known as the medieval city. These highly detailed drawings were a tremendous success and sold worldwide. This was followed by a very successful Dublin series. This coming year 2013 i am planning to apply my pen and ink skills to the beautiful architectural treasures of Oxford and bath in the u.k.
In Ireland i exhibit annually in Kilkenny Arts week and has also had one man shows in sablon,Brussels, Antwerp and long island.
In 2009 i was made a member of the watercolour society of ireland and work mainly in this medium but often returns to oil moving between all disciplines with ease.
Quite a lot of my time is taken up with commissions and my work hangs in many publi and private collections in Ireland main land europe and America,Canada,Australia and Japan.
