I love porcelain! It’s the most awkward, unforgiving and generally infuriating material, but when it goes well it is absolutely sublime and beautiful.
As an artist, it is important to me to work within the perimeters of a certain material, and after many fits and starts and experiments since leaving art college (Newcastle Uni and then Edinburgh College of Art) I discovered porcelain and have never looked back.
My work explores connections and relationships between ideas and people, and the threads that link humanity. At times, life seems so fragile and transient, and at others permanent.
