HERMIT - Skav Artist

I call the work that I do "Skav Art" and it's drawing small pictures from the imagination using frugal materials bought very cheaply or simply scrounged, like a cheap pencil, biro or fineliner. The artworks are drawn on anything suitable up to the size of A5 (which is the extreme limit in skav art sized works!).

No pre-viz work is ever done, as it is the thumbnail sketch itself which is worked on as the finished piece. This helps hold onto that initial creative idea, which can become corrupted through further development in other artforms.

Mixed media is also out of the question. In skav art, one medium, like a pencil or biro is used throughout the piece. This reflects it's doodling origins. It can even be described as "advanced doodling" or even "finished thumbnail sketching" for those who have trouble getting a handle on it.
