A night time painting of St Michael’s Mount with the last truck of the day leaving the Mount on the causeway. The quiet power of the castle, towering above the sea in its timeless, enigmatic beauty is lit by warm lights; their stone walls reflecting the glow, creating a contrast against the starry sky above and dark waters below. The causeway stretches out, a thin ribbon of stone connecting the island to the mainland, its surface slick and reflective from the evening tide, the headlights bouncing off the cobblestones. It’s nearly time for me to move out of the way to let it pass, but I have a few seconds longer to enjoy the scene.
