I was born in North London. My father was himself an accomplished artist and encouraged me, as a young man, to take up painting as a hobby. Over the years I developed a passion for painting and creating art. At senior school I studied 'A' level art with the intention of going to Art College. However unforeseen circumstances, led me instead, to study and pursue a career in Law, painting as an enjoyable pastime.
Upon retirement, I fulfilled my long-held aspiration of painting full- time, as an artist.
I now reside in Hertfordshire, but maintain a holiday home in Swanage, Dorset, overlooking the sea, from which I gain inspiration for my favourite subject matter, landscapes and seascapes.
Although my primary focus is in painting landscapes, my artistic expression encompasses a broad spectrum of subjects, including still life, animals, flowers, properties and occasionally, abstract compositions.
I employ a diverse range of media in my art, including oils, pastels and ink, but with watercolour and acrylics serving as my primary mediums.
I would describe my style of painting as modern realism, characterized by my endeavour to evoke atmosphere and passion, in the appreciation of the natural world and its beauty.
My artistic expression is deeply entwined with my personal identity, reflecting my life experiences, emotions and perspectives.
Whatever the subject matter of the artwork or media used in creating it, my overwhelming desire is always to stimulate the mind of the viewer and create a feeling of pleasure and calmness. Enjoy.
