I am interested in representing real life, drawn to how light falls on, shines through, and bounces off the world around us.
My daily practice is observational drawing, striving for a balance between surface presentation and structural anatomy. I love portraying people, places, and animals, aiming to demystify both my subject and my process.
I believe in the perfectly imperfect human form, and would like to see more diverse representation of the body. I was delighted to have a large self portrait included in the 2022 Royal Portrait Society annual open exhibition.
