I majored in 2d animation after winning a Royal Society of Art Award in 1993 for my first animated short for the World Wide Fund.

I worked freelance on various 2d animated film productions for companies including Warner Bros. and Dreamworks, working in London, Vancouver and Valencia

I have been a carer for the last seven years during which nearly killed me but was saved by escaping amazing UK coast sketching our fantastic birds and the odd seal en plein air to restore my sanity. One Osprey sketching trip I met Rutland Osprey Educator and author Ken Davies and I illustrated his book "Ozzie Leads the Way" for children 8+ available to buy from Lyndon Reserve and Walkers Books, Oakham all proceeds to the Rutland Osprey Project. I have recently been doing some sketching therapy at Twycross Zoo....unfortunately not always the same as sketching animals in the wild but affordable. I rarely get a chance to sit and work from photos at home so my studio is en plein air working from gorgeous life.

I organise free sketching afternoons in Burton Upon Trent on the first Wednesday at Branston Water Park DE14 3HD and following Saturday at the Ferry Bridge DE15 9HF every month, except January. All are welcome to join me sketching the birds here and I will share all I know about how to sketch wildlife from life.
