I am an artist and an author - with titles such as 'Patterns'; 'Textiles Now' and 'The Pattern Sourcebook' -all published by Laurence King publishers. I taught at the University of the Arts, London, for nearly thirty years and have retired to Shropshire.
My primary interest is in dyeing and colouration of yarns and textiles- especially using natural dyestuffs. I am particularly interested in block and screen printing using natural dyes.
I also enjoy printmaking and have recently embarked on a series of prints based on Joe Simpson's epic adventure as detailed in his book and film 'Touching The Void'. I have completed several prints on this theme using the medium of collographs.
Lino cutting is also a favourite of mine and I often hand colour my prints using natural dye inks.
I love knitting and reading- usually both at once!
