Nearing the half century mark, passed the quarter century point in marriage and parenthood to three daughters, in loco parentis to a spaniel and assorted cats, currently sequestered in the semi-rural suburbs of Limerick, Ireland, I have been a dedicated obsessive-compulsive cartoonist and doodler for the bulk of my tenure on this planet.
Signwriting, posters, window painting, mural painting and schoolyard markings constitute my current daily art routine and earn the daily crust, but cartoon, graphic, and illustration work provide a welcome, if mostly amateur diversion.
I have no formal art qualifications - entirely my own fault. I did start out studying science in University College Cork, but my career has followed a meandering path since then. Myself and my wife have juggled self-employment and a variety of more orthodox employments over the last twenty five years, but artwork has provided a steady trickle of colour and pocket money throughout.
