Artist author and illustrator from Derry, Northern Ireland. Based between Hertfordshire, England and Donegal, Ireland. Studied at Rupert Stanley College of Art in Belfast and Newcastle upon Tyne's  School of Art and Design. After years of working in watercolour and oil, Dawn now works mainly in graphite, gold leaf and watercolour.

In July 2015 a full series of her work was bought by music legend Stevie Nicks. March 2016 she shared an exhibition with Ed Org In May 2016 she became the first woman ever to be commisioned as an artist by The Savoy, London. The three pieces were permanently installed in patisserie, Melba. One of them was reproduced in chocolate as part of a special edition eclair by renowned pastry chef Ludwig Hely. Work was chosen to feature on bottles of a limited edition Bushmills whiskey in June 2016
In 2020 Dawn’s first book ‘BearShaped’ was published to much critical acclaim for writing and illustration and was shortlisted for The 2021 Waterstones Children’s Book Prize. The filmrights to the book were held by Apple TV until 2022.
Dawn has since been working with children with mental health issues using art as a creative outlet and helping to raise self confidence in young learners. http://www.pencilsatdawn.com
