Light and the colour as I see it, are the key-stones to my work.
I like to look at everything as if it were for the first time and try to shed any pre-conceived ideas.
I spent 8 years in the Royal Marines and developed a great affinity to Dartmoor, and many of my paintings are inspired by my experiences of living in that particular environment.
Understandably I suppose, I also adore painting in the heat and dryness of Mediterranean climates and have recently returned from a trip to the Southern Turkish coast with many ideas to take my work into new areas.
