Born in County Durham, Christopher James has been a serious painter for over 20 years and studied fine art at the University of Northumbria. His oil paintings have attracted collectors from the UK and internationally.

His atmospheric street scenes, landscapes and figure studies are informed by a combination of sketches, photography and memory. Ultimately striving to create qualities of light and mood which reflect memories, emotions and imagination. At the same time capturing sacred and timeless qualities of people, architecture and nature.
