Experiment in colour, size and angles. The four landscapes (size only 2 x 3 inches each) were all painted en plein air with three of them using only colour-mixes based on the complementary of their surround colour. So green is used in the red section, violet in the yellow and orange in the blue while orthodox colours are placed against the black. The central division is angled instead of following the perpendicular that the brain wants to be there and the landscapes are similarly placed unintuitively within sloping parallelograms instead of rectangles. Water-mixable oils with acrylic surrounds on 12 x 16 inch canvas panel.
