I studied art and design at the Jacob Kramer College, Leeds and Leeds Polytechnic in the early 70's where I gained a BA(Hons) in Industrial Design. My work on this course, designing some teaching aids, led to a career in social care, working with people with learning difficulties. Throughout my career I employed my art and design skills in various ways including making films and videos. I also developed an interest in theatre, particularly stage and lighting design. I have been a member of the Nottingham Arts Theatre and involved in a range of different shows and plays. Over the years I've also produced a number of paintings and drawings. For 7 years I worked as a trainer, primarily inducting learning disability staff. Modern approaches to their work employs 'graphic facilitation' which I took a great interest in, developing my skills in this area and delivering courses in the techniques. In November 2009 my wife and I moved to Greece where I am focusing more on drawing and painting. I have produced a range of pen & wash drawings, pen & inks, watercolours and acrylics. I am also doing some signwriting with a particular emphasis on using chalkpens graphically, an approach which doesn't appear to have taken off here.
