This is the old iron trough aqueduct on the Cromford Canal, where it crosses the River Derwent and the railway line to Matlock, Derbyshire. The picture was painted from an old photo I took in the 1980s. The purple haze of the foliage on the right is a pretty accurate rendition of the actual colour, which I thought was unusual and charming!
