It is sometimes hard to believe that Portmeirion is in North Wales, as this oil on canvas demonstrates. The golden sands, blue skies, palm tree and Italianate architecture of the tower that houses the camera obscura, all suggest more exotic climes. It's hard to believe that this is an old slate dock in rugges Snowdonia.
