Portmeirion, North Wales, is one of my favourite places, and this ornamental pond in the Gwyllt (a wooded wilderness area) was crying out to be painted. The footbridge is a perfect spot to pause and contemplate nature, away from the hurly-burly of modern life, and I hope I have captured that quality. For this painting I used acrylics rather than my more usual oils, on canvas.
