Self taught best describes my progress to this point in time, no Royal School of Art just hours spent honing my skills and creating a style that I believe represents what I feel is important and hope that you like. Although I have studied many artists and their work it's actually the image itself, its composition and feeling that captures my attention. This has lead to the somewhat inevitable introduction of photography which I now use as a source for my drawings and as images in their own right.
Much of my subject matter focuses on the relationship of light on surfaces and the contrast that can be seen in simple images that are quite often taken for granted. My intention is not to produce photo-realistic images, far from it as I believe that what I produce is an artistic representation of a subject, not an attempt to make an identical copy.
My artwork is based on producing originals which I feel gives people something that is individual, personal, unique to them and is why at the moment I do not offer prints of my work.
