I moved to Leeds from Portchester near Portsmouth when I retired from teaching. I have always been interested in art but never had time to paint seriously while I was working.
I have no formal art qualifications but am constantly learning from others and the world around me. I have flirted with many methods and materials and have tried my hand at landscapes, still life and portraits. My early paintings were mostly oils but I now find most satisfaction working in pastel. I love to paint and am thrilled when I feel I have captured the essence of my subject.
