I am a self-taught amateur painter and started to paint about Six years ago. Two sessions per week at different venues mean no actual tuition but good friends made and mutual appraisal of each others progress. I love to paint in different mediums but find pastels versatile as I like to paint animals.
I have sold some of my pictures in local exhibitions, mostly portraits of wild animals. Watercolour remains a great challenge as it is something I tend to use rather vividly, not really transparent enough for the purists! At one group I am known as the "Animal Lady\"" although I do paint rural landscapes in Water colour. Alkyd Oils are exciting too as i like to put detail into my paintings.
