Ann Fellows was born and grew up in London, and her initial art training was at Ealing School of Art. In 1964 she married her husband, Chris, and they set up home initially in London, and then after a few years, moved n to Hampshire. They had two sons.
In 1975 Ann, with her husband and family, went to live in Johannesburg, in South Africa, and there she studied oils and pastels with the well-known Italian artist, Carlo Sdoya.
On their return to the UK in the late 1980?s, she extended her range to include watercolours and acrylics. She now lives in Snowdonia where she paints, and runs painting holiday courses, and where her husband is a picture framer.
Ann enjoys working ?in series? - exploring the same subject matter in different media - and also working with mixed media to achieve interesting effects.
She is fascinated by the light and colour of the Welsh landscape and aims to reflect its beauty and mystery in her painting.
She likes to paint everything, ranging from still life, landscapes, seascapes and townscapes, to flowers, figures, animals, portraits, and even abstract work.
She has regular solo exhibitions at Penrhyn Castle in North Wales, and has also exhibited in Pensychnant Nature Reserve, Cornwall and Hampshire and recently took part in the Betws y Coed Festival of the Arts. In 2008 she was invited to run some workshops at Bodelwyddan Castle as part of the Castle?s involvement with a national competition held by the Victoria and Albert Museum in London.
