ALAN BALLAfter having a career as a design engineer, I decidedto follow my main interest in life as an artist and craftsman, to do this I retrained to become an art teacher. After a short time teaching painting and pottery at a comprehensive school I rented a studio at 'Washington Art Centre'and became a self employed potter, making a living selling a range of high fired domestic ware.I also taught ceramics at a local college, also evening and weekend classes at the art centre. I left the Art Centre after twenty years, and now have a studio at home where I continue my painting and potting. Between1997-99 I had 19 paintings published by ;Rosenstiels fine art publishers.I have Exhibited extensively over the years.e.g. Northern potters; Chelsea Craft Fair; DLI Museum, Durham; Sunderland art Gallery; Newcastle university Gallery; Osman Gallery, Bahamas; Redboure Gallery, Florida.Artist & Illustrator mag.Sept.1997 and frontispiece Jan.2006.
