One of a series of oil paintings on board, in black floating frames, influenced by the style of Ton Schulten. Block colours with geometrical lines, contrasted and altered shades.
These paintings are views out of The Green in Nether Heyford, a village in Northamptonshire. The Green is one of the largest in Europe, covering over 5 acres. The colours and mood changes during the day and across the seasons, sunsets and moonrises casting an array of shadows and reflections.
Scene on the Green 5 looks north east across to the Bliss Charity Primary School (dating back to 1674), at a small road junction that extends a single track byway across The Green.
