Sharon Raymond

I am an acrylic artist, working from my dining room table at home. I didn’t do art at school but I have always used my artistic side. I was a cake decorator for over 40 years, designing and creating wedding cakes. Whilst doing that I also spent time painting on china and working with watercolours,I loved working on portraits and landscapes. Life took over so my artwork dwindled until 2017 when a fellow artist introduced me to acrylics. I was starting a new job so I was hoping that going back to painting would relax me. Unfortunately the job didn’t last as my health took a turn for the worst but painting has been my salvation. My life went from being very active and social to spending most days at home alone, so art became important to me. I have exhibited locally and sold my work through online auctions. I also do commission work mainly for dancers and musicians. The colour in my paintings makes me smile and it gives me a reason to get up in the morning.
