On hot summer days in the small hamlet of Bosham, just south of Chichester, West Sussex, the ice cream van makes a welcome visit and parks on the foreshore. He can only sell his wares at low tide as when the water comes up the estuary it floods the promenade and the lower part of the road. Unwary motorists sometimes return to find their cars partly submerged.
