Wolves are one of the most mysterious and captivating of animals. They are such a wonderful challenge for an artist and I always enjoy drawing and painting them. This portrait shows a magnificent wolf in fine detail and rich colour. I wanted the focus to be on the enchanting orange eyes. Hours of work went into creating this unique depiction of one of nature's most iconic animals.
The surface is Uart sanded paper. This professional 360gsm pastel paper is pH7 neutral and has archival permanence. Professional grade soft pastels and pastel pencils were used to create this artwork.
