I’m a multidisciplinary artist who loves experimenting with different styles and materials. My art journey started way back in childhood, watching Paint Along With Nancy on TV. Nancy Kominsky’s grid methods and her way of breaking things down made it all feel possible. I’ve always felt like creativity is in my bones. My great-grandmother, Ellen Fellows, painted all her life, and some of her work still hangs in our family homes.

I’m originally from Manchester, but I spent many years abroad. In Paris, I studied at Les Ateliers Beaux-Arts and soaked up everything from street murals to the classics. Later, I moved to Athens and joined εργαστήρι ζωγραφικής, where I played with collage and abstraction, inspired by a brilliant teacher, Dimitris, whose lectures gave me a new way of seeing.

These days, I’ve become a bit obsessed with sumi-e painting. There’s something about the calm of ink on paper, the space between strokes, and the way it forces you to be both focused and free. I try to practise almost every day. It’s not easy, but it’s so rewarding.

I also work digitally using Procreate, mixing traditional techniques with a more modern approach. In 2023, I set up a Facebook group for Procreate fans which has now grown to over six thousand members. It’s such a joy to see people share their work, try new things, and support each other.

One of the things I’m most proud of is Creative Bubbles by The Randoms, a collaboration with my long-time friend Natasha. She writes poetry, I create the illustrations, and together we share free poem-and-art pairings online. It’s a project full of heart and connection, and it’s been a really special experience for both of us. You can visit our site here: https://www.creativebubblesbytherandoms.com

You can also find more of my personal work, including nature-inspired paintings and sketchbook pieces, over at my own site: https://www.rebecca-art.com. I’m always creating, always learning, and always looking for the next spark of inspiration
