I’m a largely self taught artist living in rural Worcestershire.
I’ve been drawing for as long as I remember! I remember the sheer joy of being given my first coloured pencils when I was 6! I didn’t start painting, however, until I was in my 30’s when a reduction in my workload allowed more free time. For two years I immersed myself in Art, trying just about every medium except egg tempera! Work intruded once again, sadly, so my art lay fallow until I retired 8 years ago, since when I have been able to devote myself to it again.
I now work in oils, watercolour and acrylics and occasionally charcoal.
I have always been struck by the power of Art to move the viewer.
I hope my watercolours are just that, exploiting the unique properties of watercolour rather than just “paintings in watercolour”!
