I've always had an interest in art. All the way through my academic life there has been art - right up to and including my teaching degree. I eventually found myself working in an office with no creative outlet at all. I joined a local am dram group and painted sets for that - once again doing something I said I'd never do again - painting to a deadline! Although I enjoyed it, it was very demanding to fit in with a full time job so after a few years I stopped doing that and now paint for my own pleasure.
I've taken up watercolours and experiment with acrylics a little. I enjoy tinkering and taking on board tips and techniques from the very talented people at the art club I now attend. My love of travel often influences my paintings, especially the pen and watercolour, as it does lend itself to architecture very well. And when its not the architecture doing the influencing it is likely to be the artwork I view in the galleries.
I've exhibited in local exhibitions and got involved in postcard auctions for charity which has been great fun and increased my confidence. I've now decided to take the next step and try selling my artwork online. Lets see how it goes!
