I have been drawing or painting for as long as I can remember. My father was an amateur artist and watching him was my inspiration from a very early age. I studied Fine Art formally at Farnham Art College and have continued to take courses that interest me. I feel an artist is constantly learning and developing.
I have also trained in art and design for textiles and have taught watercolour art to adults for both Hampshire CC and Bracknell Forest Council before we moved to Pembrokeshire. I would be very happy to teach individuals or small groups so feel free to contact me if this is of interest to you.
My main interests are in painting botanical or floral paintings, landscapes and seascapes. Living in beautiful Pembrokeshire, in the Preseli mountains there is plenty of inspiration. Please contact me if you would like to purchase any of my work at Gill.farrington13@hotmail.co.uk or via this site.
My studio is in our rather wild garden and is totally overcrowded with my art and craft. I usually have to share this space with one or more of my four cats.
In the past my artwork has been exhibited in galleries in Narberth, and with Fishguard Art Society exhibitions, where I am a member, and I have had two solo exhibitions in the galleries at Picton Castle
Recently my art has been evolving towards a more abstract style which am enjoying exploring. It feels much more free which is exciting. I hope you like these newer paintings which are usually worked in oil or acrylic.
