Contemporary, semi-abstract pastel artist, creating work based on locations around the South West, my home. Hidden gems and popular spots, where childhood memories were made and family holidays are spent, based on reality but using a loose approach with bold marks and textural strokes.
I believe a landscape should not reflect a photographic representation of a scene, but instead capture the mood and emotion of a place and moment in time, that leads the viewer to make their own personal connection.
Whether being described as vibrant and energetic or earthy and calming, viewers say they can feel themselves within the weather and the land of my work.
You’ll often find me with the family, exploring the coast and the moors, soaking up the colours and the ever changing atmosphere.
