Steven Croft

Many of my paintings focus on scenes from the natural world, often landscapes and seascapes and I am particularly interested in the effects of skies and the ways that they can change the whole mood and atmosphere of a painting. I also have a particular interest in wildlife, especially birdlife. I prefer to paint places that I have visited, and which have, in some way, captured my imagination through visual effects, mood or atmosphere.

I work primarily in watercolour, acrylic or oil depending on the overall effects I want to achieve but I also enjoy experimenting with other media and I particularly like working in gouache.
