Painting started after a career on the airlines and lockdown forced me to fill my time with something creative. I enjoy painting realistic still-life, enjoying the challenge of striving for realism without it looking too photographic. You may find me hunting around the Oxford outdoor market and antique stalls looking for interesting things to paint, after collecting various items, I then put my vision on to canvas.

I have also tried my hand at portraits inspired by the people of Jericho. I do love how people express themselves with the use of make up and accessories etc. I strive to capture an expression on each face that would portray a mood/personality. I created a portrait picture gallery for Artweeks 2023 called ‘Faces of Jericho’.

My next project and focus for ArtWeeks 2024 is painting some scenes and themes from the Oxford meadow and canal. I have the most beautiful view from my studio window where I can sit in peace, forget my worries, paint and appreciate the beauty of my surroundings including the wildlife. After all, we Artists are known to be sensitive creatures.
